The SGM8196 is a high voltage, high-side current-sense amplifier that operates from 2.7V to 5.5V single supply. The device also features a wide common mode voltage range from 2.9V to 70V in single-supply operation or (-VS) + 2.9V to (-VS) + 70V in dual-supply operation. And the input common mode voltage is independent with the power supply voltage. The SGM8196 is designed to convert the measured small differential voltage across the high-side shunt resistor to the output voltage referred to GND.
SGM8196 can survive in wide common mode voltage range -75V to 75V, this makes SGM8196 is suitable and reliable for current sense in inductive load or the circuit which has parasitic inductance.
There are four configurable gains for SGM8196: 20V/V, 25V/V, 50V/V or 100V/V, you can use the IO to configure different gains.
SGM8196 also has high BW, fast response, high CMRR, low Vos and other advantages, so it's very suitable for the applications which request large current dynamic, low power consumption, high precision, fast response cureent sense.
The SGM8196 is available in Green SOIC-8 and TSSOP-8 packages. It is specified over the extended -40℃ to +125℃ temperature range.
